An antique Kurdish necklace. A Kurdish old style jewelry. An authentic tribal piece. The fringed pendant has a carnelian stone dangling from the center. The large half moon pendant is made of brass, inlayed with a carnelian stone and some dark red stones.
The short fringe has bell shaped ends. This is sometimes called an "Oat" necklace because of the oat seed shaped dangling ornaments, which were a symbol of fertility and richness during the 19th Century. Members of Kurdish tribes wearing these pieces, usually they were owned by prosperous tribal members.
Necklace pendant hangs from a sturdy antique brass chain that measures 30 inches long. There are lots of ornate brass beads in a variety of styles, shapes, designs, all handcrafted. The pendant from the jump rings to the end of the dangles is about 4 inches long.
