ANTIQUE KURDISH PILED SALT BAG LATE 19th CENTURY

Antique Tribal & Village Rugs from Kurdistan.

An antique salt bag by the Kurds of Eastern Kurdistan. The bag has a piled face and plain striped flat woven back, the main body of the bag depicts linked floral designs surrounding a panel that could be interpreted to contain a tree of life.
